Young Fallow

Yesterday morning, while on a flying visit to Leicestershire, I had the chance to go out for a short walk a tone of my favourite locations - Bradgate Park.  It wasn’t really a photography trip so much as a exercise walk for the dog.  Nevertheless, along came the camera and I managed a few mins photographing fallow deer in quietly grazing.  At this time of year, the antlers have been dropped and the new set are just starting to bud.  They are also loosing the last of their longer winter coats.

Fallow deer are, unarguably, the most attractive of our deer with fine features, that beautiful dappled coat and distinctive white behind and dark striped tail.
