OK, so here’s the thing, a new lens was delivered this afternoon.  So I unwrapped it, stuck it on my camera and went out in the garden to try it out.  Here is one from the first burst I snatched. I wasn’t really trying and the light was low and what I’d, technically speaking, describe as completely pants.  The stolen image, I rather liked.  Hope you enjoy it. 

Er, the lens? it’s a Nikon 500mm f5.6 PF. I can tell from those first shots that its a bit of a beauty and it handles like a dream.  The image is straight from the camera with no adjustments or cropping. I feel like I’m cheating a bit.  My trusty 200-500mm is a very good lens indeed and has served me well but this one is… well, a bit ‘special’.
