Under Kenyan Skies - New Journey

I’ve just returned from a two week trip to Kenya.  We safaried through three distinct parts of the country.  We started in the middle/northern part of the Kenya in the Matthews Mountains of Samburu county, then moved South West a bit to the high plateau country of Laikipia and, finally, we travelled down to the boarder with Tanzania to travel through the Masai Mara national reserve and a neighbouring conservancy.

Kenya is without doubt a stunning and varied country with many surprises and I’ve brought back quite a lot of photos to go with the memories.  These are going to take a while to get sorted and to post a few here but I’ve made a start and the new ‘journey’ is now up and the first item on a group of cheetahs and a kill in the Masai Mara is ‘live’ here.

In the meantime, I leave you with a sunset over the Masai Mara.  This image was taken less than 10 minutes after the cheetah sequence.  Yes, the colours really were like that.  As I remember it and as it came out the camera.  The sun had just burst through light cloud and was shining up to reflect on layers of cloud; apart from this brief burst at sunset the sky had been quite overcast and there were portents of rain to come.  We had a mad dash to find a lone tree to pop in front of the rapidly sinking sun!
